— the main advantage of electric water heaters is ease of installation: they do not require a chimney, it is enough to connect the device to a power source. On the other hand, electricity is more expensive than gas. In addition, only the most low-power models can be connected to ordinary sockets — usually up to 3.5 kW; at higher power, either a direct connection to the switchboard is required, or a three-phase (400 V) power supply, which is far from being available everywhere. This is especially true for tankless water heaters, for which high power is critical for efficient operation. At the same time, conventional storage-type water heaters have relatively low power, and electricity is often the best option for them.
