In addition, propane has a low operating pressure, which simplifies the design of circuits and reduces their cost, as well as a low temperature at the outlet of the compressor, which contributes to efficiency.This refrigerant has two disadvantages: flammability and high compressor power requirements, which makes such units quite heavy and bulky. Therefore, despite all the advantages, R290 is used quite rarely.
