Xenon set

— a xenon kit is a set that includes both the lamps themselves (for more details, see "Type") and the ignition unit (ballast).

The ignition unit converts the standard voltage of the on-board network (12 or 24 V) into the increased voltage necessary for the operation of the lamp, and also provides a high-voltage impulse for ignition. Without such a block, it is impossible to use xenon lamps, and it is not always available “on the farm”. Therefore, in some cases — for example, if xenon is installed on a car for the first time — it is easiest to buy lamps and ballast as a whole set. This is also convenient from the point of view that the complete ignition unit is optimally suited for the corresponding lamps, and the third-party one must also be selected according to the operating parameters.
