Bi-xenon

— xenon lamps with two modes of operation and capable of providing low as well as high beam.

For general features of xenon lamps, see "xenon". This variety is intended for cars in which the low and high beam are switched by changing the operating mode of one lamp. Compared to the xenon/halogen alternative (see relevant paragraph), bi-xenon is more expensive, but has a number of advantages: less heat, easier headlight adjustment, and higher brightness in high beam mode.
