Heat Moldability The Bont Hybrid fiberglass in the boot is made hard by the use of a thermosetting epoxy resin. Resin development is something that we have been doing since 1975. Formulating a resin that is super stiff, yet becomes moldable at low temperatures and has a fast cure time is critical for our unique requirement which is why we are the only skate manufacturer who develops our own resins in-house. Our resin becomes soft at just 60 degreesC (140 degreesF) which is the lowest in the industry. Once you heat the resin, mold the shoe and let it set, it is permanently set without the need to remold. Bont Derby Patriot Black Boot The Bont Derby Patriot Boot is a radical departure from traditional derby boots. The boot is light weight thanks to the construction being comprised of fiberglass and carbon instead of traditional leather. By using modern materials, the boot can be made lighter, stronger, more responsive and heat mold-able. The boot has a 1/4 heal rise, protection around the toes, two Velcro straps, is higher cut than the speed and hybrid boots. This model is offered in 2 variations: The Derby Patriot Carbon and the Derby Patriot. Both models come standard with 1.5cm thick, super tough Australian cow hide outer skin and TPU bumpers to protect the front and side of the boot. The
