— a kind of coffee maker, consisting of two vessels, installed one above the other and connected by a tube to a compartment for ground coffee. When used, water is poured into the lower part, coffee is poured into the compartment, after which the container is put on fire. The design of the moka is such that when the water in the lower vessel is heated, the vapor pressure increases, due to which the hot water rises into the upper reservoir through the ground coffee layer. This technology is similar in terms of process features to preparing coffee in an espresso coffee maker; at the same time, geyser models are much simpler, cheaper and more compact, and coffee does not need to be ground finely for them: medium grinding (or slightly finer than average) is considered optimal.
