— wired models with analogue signal transmission can use a connection with a different number of wires — 2, 3 or 4. However, the latter option is the most popular nowadays: a 4-wire connection provides extensive possibilities, suitable even for very advanced models.

In general, a wired analogue connection is inexpensive, but it is noticeably inferior to a digital one (both wired LAN and wireless Wi-Fi) in terms of functionality, and it is also intended exclusively for intercoms and other specialized equipment.
