Half-pedestal

— a washbasin design element designed to cover the drain pipe (and sometimes the plumbing). In this sense, it is similar to a pedestal (see above), however, unlike it, it does not play the role of a stand, because. attached to the wall, not to the floor. It is found in suspended models (see "Type of installation"). The advantage of a semi-pedestal is the minimum space occupied - it does not reach the floor. At the same time, the installation of such washbasins is associated with certain difficulties, since it requires an appropriate arrangement of communications in the house: in particular, the outlets of sewer pipes must be located in the wall at the level of a semi-pedestal.
