— multi-shot models holding 16 or more charges.The general advantages of a multi-shot weapon over a single-shot weapon are obvious: it allows you to fire several shots in a row without being distracted by replenishing ammunition. However some inconvenience creates the need to equip the magazine / drum manually, but this point can be partly corrected by using spare magazines or devices for their quick equipment. Therefore, most modern short-barreled pneumatics are made precisely multiply charged.
As for the specific capacity, the larger the magazine, the less often it will have to be reloaded, but the longer it will take to fully reload. On the other hand, the store does not have to be filled “up to the stop” every time. And the bunker magazines used in some airsoft models (mostly copies of submachine guns) are actually devoid of this drawback: their capacity is measured in hundreds of balls, and reloading may not be required at all for several hours of play. However, bunkers have their drawbacks — first of all, noise: when shaking, such a store actually turns into a rattle.
Returning to traditional pneumatics, we note that due to the small caliber in such weapons it is easy to provide more capacious magazines than in combat prototypes. For example, copies of the famous PM often contain about 18 – 20 balls (against 8 cartridges in the original).
