Air pistols with balls
Balls
— ordinary round balls; used in all 6mm airsoft pistols, as well as in most conventional 4.5mm short barreled airguns. In the second case, popularity is mainly due to two advantages. Firstly, balls are many times cheaper than bullets. Secondly, stores (and reloading systems) for such ammunition are generally simpler, and the capacity of stores can be made larger than in the case of bullets.The main disadvantage of balls is considered to be relatively low accuracy — primarily due to poor compatibility with rifled barrels. Actually, most of these barrels do not allow work with this type of ammunition at all; and where possible it is desirable to use special lead balls rather than the more common steel balls. On the other hand, most air pistols are used for short range shooting, where accuracy is determined more by the quality of the weapon itself than by the type of ammunition. So the balls are quite suitable for both recreational use and relatively simple workouts.
