Kids' bikes with handbrake
Rear handbrake
— brake controlled by a "trigger" on the steering wheel with the help of a hand. By pressing the handle due to mechanical traction, the force is transmitted to the rear wheel and thereby it is blocked. This can be done with the help of pads that are pressed against the wheel rim and stop it (rim mechanical brake) or with the help of a disc (see below for more details about it). Such brakes, unlike the pedal brakes described above, work even with a broken chain. At the same time, they are more complex, more expensive and require periodic maintenance, which is why they are rare, mainly in fairly advanced models of the older age category.rear handbrake | clear | Save List |
