Light sensors
— sensors designed to automatically turn on and off lighting. In fact, they are a specific type of motion sensors — they work by detecting a moving object in the field of view; therefore, the characteristics of such devices usually indicate two purposes — movement and lighting. The main difference from traditional (security) motion sensors is that this type of sensors is used for switching voltage 230 V (rather than 12/24 V); the same voltage is often used for sensor own power, although there are also models with non chargeable / rechargeable batteries. In addition, most of these devices have brightness control (see "Features").
The light sensor can also be used for security purposes — to illuminate a moving object that has entered the protected area. However, most often such sensors provide convenience in purely everyday situations — for example, to turn on the light in a dark hall when a person enters it.
