Bluetooth connected sensors
Bluetooth
— bluetooth connection — the same technology used in smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.One of the advantages of this protocol is just the possibility of direct connection of sensors with household (not specialized) gadgets — like the same smartphones. In addition, starting with version 4.0, Bluetooth has a special communication mode — LE ("low energy"). This mode is specially designed for stand-alone miniature devices, including wireless sensors; it allows you to transmit information with very low energy costs and at the same time provides a range of up to 100 m. On the other hand, Bluetooth is poorly suited for burglar alarms and other systems with high requirements for speed and reliability of communication. In particular, the data transmission delay when using this technology can reach 2 – 3 s, which is unacceptable for serious tasks; and the resistance to interference is not very high — due to the use of a heavily loaded 2.4 GHz band. Therefore, this type of communication is used very rarely, and only in household devices designed for simple tasks, such as climate temperature / humidity sensors.
