Fire sensors
Fire fighting
— sensors designed to protect premises from fires. This type includes three types of sensors: smoke, temperature and gas (see "Intended use"). The first two varieties are designed to respond to an already formed fire, they can be responsible for both giving a warning signal and controlling automatic extinguishing systems. Gas sensors usually perform a preventive function, they warn of the accumulation of explosive impurities in the air; however, there are exceptions (for more details, see "Purpose — gas sensors").
