A copy sleeve is a ring that is put on the spindle and allows you to guide the tool along the template, following the contours of the template and at the same time not touching it with a nozzle. The copy base is usually designed in such a way as to ensure increased accuracy (after all, templates are often used precisely for precise work): in particular, such a sole may lack a depth adjustment mechanism that tends to loosen and introduce errors into the movement of the cutter.
