Weights

— devices for additional weighting of the fishing line with tackle attached to it. The sinker performs two main functions: when casting, it provides the “sweep” and inertia necessary for sufficiently long throws, and in the water it contributes to the desired position of the gear (aligns the float, additionally keeps the feeder at the bottom, and prevents tangling of the fishing line). It can be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to implement these functions without additional cargo — the gear itself is often not massive enough for this.
