Most of the walls of the feeder are solid with precision Hexmesh bait release holes, perfect for a slower controlled release of the bait. A wide variety of weights and sizes allow these feeders to be used on both flowing and still water. Specifically designed for fishing at distance, the lead is bottom mounted which improves casting accuracy in crosswinds. The unique lead shape means that the inside of the cage is completely smooth all the way to the bottom of the lead which massively helps to release bait into your swim on retrieve and avoids the bait to become clogged up into the bottom of the feeder. This allows the bait to release easily and also forces the feeder towards the surface on the retrieve, keeping your rig away from snags near the bottom. Drennan Groundbait feeders are a hard plastic open ended feeder ideal for when groundbait needs to be packed in tighter than normal (e.g. when used on faster rivers ).

The flat-bottomed design makes them ideal for all situations, including casting tight to the sloping banks of an island. The recess in the front of the feeder accepts a size ten swivel or a Ring Swivel, providing just enough tension to make a semi-fixed rig. Alternatively they can be used with Quick Change Beads to make a completely free-running rig.
