Snow augers are designed to remove snow cover of various sizes, operate on a belt drive or from a power take-off shaft. They work best with freshly fallen snow. Wet and frozen after a thaw cover is given to them with difficulty. Also, for clearing snow with the help of a two-wheel tractor, shovels-dumps and special brushes driven by a power take-off shaft or a belt are used.
