Rotary type models are used for mowing grass on uneven surfaces. Their main executive body is a cutting disc, the driving force to which is transmitted directly from the power take-off shaft of the two-wheel tractor. Rotary mounted mowers are available in single and double disc configurations. One large-diameter cutting disc determines the width of the swath, two discs are usually installed in parallel and rotate in different directions.

Segment mowers are used in high herbage on large areas. They have high performance and efficiency of tasks. Structurally, such devices consist of a frame base on a wheelbase, a cutting device from a plurality of knives, a drive and a rod. The mowing height is adjusted using the side skids. The executive body of mowers of this type can be segment-finger (consists of movable and fixed parts, resembles scissors according to the principle of operation) and two-blade fingerless (two movable cutting parts that move in mutually opposite directions).
