Chandelier

— a kind of luminaires used exclusively for the main (upper) lighting and installed only on the ceiling. In addition to such specialization and high brightness, chandeliers are distinguished by another specific feature: they necessarily have decor in a certain style and are used not only as a source of light, but also as an important element in the design of the room. Often it is around the chandelier that the whole design of the room is built. Modern models are available in a wide variety of styles, from classic to avant-garde and from modest to artsy; so finding a suitable chandelier is usually not a problem.

As for the design, most chandeliers have 3 bulbs or more, although there are also modest models for 1 – 2 bulbs. Also not uncommon is the suspension structure, when the entire chandelier hangs from the ceiling on a special chain or even directly on the mains wire; another variant of this design is a separate suspension for each ceiling. Some chandeliers are similar in design to lamps (see the relevant paragraph) and differ from them only in richer decor.
