prices on 170 models— plastic compares favorably with fabric in its hardness, due to which suitcases made of this material are better suited for transporting fragile items (especially by plane, where they usually “do not stand on ceremony” when loading / unloading luggage). On the other hand, one of its key drawbacks is associated with this very hardness — brittleness: plastic can crack on impact. It is worth noting, however, that such a blow must be very strong; in addition, some manufacturers use specific types of plastic in their suitcases, including and especially durable (but also costly).
