USB 3.1 HDD pockets
USB 3.2 gen2 (USB 3.1 gen2, USB 3.1)
— the next major update to USB 3.2 gen1 (previously also known as USB 3.1 gen2 and USB 3.1). The maximum connection speed, compared with the previous version, has doubled — to almost 10 Gbps; and to power external devices, USB Power Delivery technology was created, which allows you to increase the power of such power supply up to 100 W (against 9 W in the standard format). However, Power Delivery support is optional; so if the pocket is used with a high power drive that requires such power, it can only be connected to the port where the appropriate power was originally provided.Note that different types of hardware connectors can be used to connect according to this version — both the “regular” full-sized USB A, and the newer, compact USB-C. This is not a particular problem for pockets with a removable wire — if necessary, you can connect another " cord", instead of the complete one. But if the cable is non-removable, you should pay special attention to the type of plug — it is in such cables that USB-C is often found, which is not yet available in every PC or laptop.
Also note that if the type of connector matches and there is sufficient power, this version of USB can work with earlier ports — except that the data transfer rate will be limited by the capabilities of the port.
