What characteristics should good headphones have?Guide to key features of headphones

How to choose a gaming headphoneWe understand the differences between regular and gaming headphones, tell you how to approach the choice of a headset wisely
Model overview based on user reviews
The A4Tech T-100 headphones offer a budget-friendly option with great sound quality comparable to more expensive models like the Koss Porta Pro. They are lightweight, compact, and easily adjustable, making them convenient for travel and comfortable for different head sizes. However, they lack soundproofing, which might not be an issue for everyone. The sound performance is adequate for Skype and gaming, but music playback can be less satisfactory, with a tendency to mix sound details into a less clear output. The microphone is decent for basic communication needs. Users may experience discomfort after prolonged use due to pressure on the ears, and the short cable length might require an extension for some setups. Overall, the A4Tech T-100 is a decent choice for budget-conscious consumers looking for a headset primarily for communication and occasional gaming.
Pros
Cons
The sound is great!! In my opinion, they are no different from the Koss Porta Pro. They are cheaper than the Koss but not inferior in quality. no soundproofing but that's not a problem for me... |
A4Tech makes decent budget devices. That's why I decided to get their headset for regular Skype conversations and the occasional gaming sessions in World of Tanks. The pros and cons of this headset should be assessed primarily with regard to their price. It's important to understand that $10 retail price isn't the kind of money for which you can get powerful and clear sound combined with a highly sensitive microphone. The headset is very lightweight and folds with two movements to a size that easily fits on a computer desk shelf. Thanks to this compact size, it can be taken with you without any problems. The headphones are well adjustable in height, so after a simple adjustment, even my wife can easily put them on. And that's considering that our head sizes differ by four levels )) The sound is ambiguous. In Skype or games, everything seems OK, there are both bass and high frequencies. But in music, there's a feeling that full polyphony collapses into one strangely sounding mess. The sound details that I can easily hear on the cheapest Sennheiser earbuds are bizarrely mixed on this headset into a sort of parody of normal sound. The microphone for Skype and games is quite decent, but nothing more. During prolonged sitting, they start to put pressure on the ears. After about an hour and a half to two hours, significant discomfort arises (by the way, my wife feels fine with them). It's hard to fix this, except maybe try to slightly bend the headband. But I'm afraid that might not work and it could make things worse. Very short cable. I don't even know what the headset designers were thinking, cutting it to a ridiculous 120 centimeters. To connect it to the rear panel of the motherboard, I had to quickly make a homemade one-meter extension, thankfully, I know how to solder. |
