If AirTag is separated from its owner and out of Bluetooth range, the Find My network can help track it down. The Find My network is approaching a billion Apple devices and can detect Bluetooth signals from a lost AirTag and relay the location back to its owner, all in the background, anonymously and privately. Users can also place AirTag into Lost Mode and be notified when it is in range or has been located by the vast Find My network. If a lost AirTag is found by someone, they can tap it using their iPhone or any NFC-capable device and be taken to a website that will display a contact phone number for the owner, if they have provided one.Privacy and security built-inAirTag is designed from the ground up to keep location data private and secure. Apple was by no means the first to come up with the idea of using special tags to find lost things. However, within the framework of its ecosystem, it has brought the level of their interaction with "apple" devices to an unprecedented high-quality way.

Compact tablet

So, Apple AirTag is such a small tracker with a body size of 31.9x31.9x8 mm and a weight of only 11 g. replaceable CR2032 battery with a claimed battery life of about a year. The body of the tag is protected from dust and moisture in accordance with the requirements of the IP67 standard.

Automatic connection

There are no through holes in AirTag, so to hang the tracker, for example, on a bunch of keys, you will need to buy an expensive strap in a separate order. But in the case of the tag there is a magnet that allows you to attach the AirTag to any metal surface. Connecting the tracker is reduced by bringing an Apple smartphone to it. The label is recognized automatically, the user will be prompted to give it a name ("Keys", "Umbrella", etc.). If you link the device to an Apple ID, the location of the tag can be seen in the Locator application in the Things tab. The application has the functions of sending an audio signal to a tag, building a route to it, renaming, turning on the lost mode.

Global Search System

There are several easy ways to search for items tagged with the AirTag tracker. First, through the Siri assistant. Secondly, with the help of the aforementioned “Locator. When a tag is within Bluetooth range of any iPhone, its location is sent to you anonymously in an encrypted signal via the Finder app. Moreover, it will not work to quietly put the AirTag in your pocket or bag for surveillance — the system will determine that someone else's tag is traveling nearby and issue a warning.

The most accurate positioning

In a number of countries around the world, another killer feature of the tag has been implemented — Ultra-Wide Band technology for the most accurate positioning of things within the range of the smartphone's wireless Bluetooth network (with an accuracy of several centimeters). Its work is run by the same built-in U1 chip, but in east european latitudes, technology frequencies are reserved for military needs. The accessory will certainly be useful to all sorts of "confused", and with the implementation of UWB, even more options for using the tag will open up.
