In October 2023, Taiwanese manufacturer Asus introduced a new line of universal Prime power supplies, which will complement the Asus ROG and Asus TUF series. These power supplies are designed for those who want to build an advanced gaming system, but are not ready to overpay for elite models with increased power. In this case, we chose a 750-watt model with a gold quality certificate and high efficiency of about 92%, which is quite enough to power a fairly powerful gaming system.

Hardware platform from Seasonic

The ASUS ROG Strix power supply is based on the Seasonic platform and is equipped with large radiators for effective cooling of power elements, heat-resistant Japanese capacitors and a proprietary 135 mm Axial-tech fan on a rolling bearing. The device is certified according to the ATX 3.0 standard and is compatible with video cards with 12+4 - 12VHPWR power connectors. In particular, we are talking about the GeForce RTX 4000 series GPUs, which can consume up to 600 W. The maximum load on the 12-volt line is 744 W.

Two-faced

The unusual design of the power supply includes two halves of the case in white and two sides in black, which allows the user to choose the color scheme when installing the power supply from the bottom or top. All unnecessary cables can be disconnected. To attract more attention, the manufacturer has extended the warranty period to 8 years, while the "gold" standard usually provides 5 years. Unlike the Asus ROG series power supplies, there is no backlighting. However, all the protection mechanisms are on board, including protection against overvoltage, excess current and short circuit.
