Model overview based on user reviews
The Asus Vivobook 15 OLED M513UA is a budget-friendly laptop that offers a range of features suitable for both work and home use. Its OLED screen provides excellent color reproduction and viewing angles, and it supports HDR and DC Dimming. The laptop is equipped with a fast SSD M2 NVMe and a powerful yet economical processor, ensuring smooth performance in non-gaming applications. It also includes a quiet fan, a button to disable the touchpad, and a uniform white keyboard backlight. However, the casing tends to pick up fingerprints and occasionally creaks, and the metal lid is somewhat flexible. The laptop lacks an Ethernet port and has a slower built-in 5GHz WiFi. While it has plenty of USB ports, including Type-C and an SD card reader, the casing's smooth black plastic is prone to smudges. The laptop's ventilation system is relatively quiet, but the air intake from the bottom is considered outdated. Additionally, the processor is from the previous generation, and the warranty is only one year. Overall, the Asus Vivobook 15 OLED M513UA is a decent option for those seeking a thin, lightweight, and powerful laptop, but it may not be the best choice at full price given the availability of newer models.
Pros
Cons
Never at Full Price because for that money there are already machines with a 3rd generation processor, and with Win 10!!!! Thin, lightweight, powerful, large memory, large SSD drive. Has a replaceable 3-step keyboard backlighting, brightness adjustment for the screen, and speaker volume via Hot-key. Plenty of USB ports. Type-C and an SD card reader. And yes — it has Bluetooth. That's a plus. Played Crysis 3 at maximum settings. Handles it easily. Heated up, the ventilation made a soft noise, but not critically. The body is about 43 degrees. Excellent screen. Absolutely no glare and great visibility from different angles. The casing is assembled well, but not perfectly. If you pick it up by a corner, it creaks. The casing is made of smooth black plastic — a poor choice. Extremely prone to smudges. Looks good only in ads. In real life, it's always smeared. Besides, it seems the processor starts at t=65*. So even when loading the OS, the fans start working. Quietly, barely audible in silence. Probably used low-noise blades. During work with Office, the ventilation didn't intensify, and it's safe to say it's not heard. Air intake from the bottom of the laptop, which hasn't been a good solution for about 20 years. The processor is from the previous generation Gen2. HDMI needs to be replaced with Display Port. The MyAsus app should easily connect the phone with the laptop, but in fact, it just wears you out. Registering the product on Asus won't give you anything. They just solicit money for extras. Warranty 1 year!!!!! for 1000 Dollars. That's little for such a price. As they say, shop around to find who gives more. |
The M513UA-L1295T configuration features an OLED screen with excellent color reproduction and viewing angles. It supports HDR and DC Dimming. Decent sound. Fast SSD M2 NVMe from WD. Disk size 2280. There is a slot for DDR4 DIMM memory 1.2v. Very economical yet fairly powerful processor. No lag in non-gaming applications. Quiet fan, rarely turns on. There is a button to disable the touchpad. The keyboard backlight is uniform white - the symbols themselves and the border around them light up - not blinding. Passes the test for Win11. Right now, it can be purchased on TMall for 51871 RUB with delivery from Moscow. The casing picks up fingerprints and occasionally creaks. The metal lid bends quite noticeably. Although there is space for a 2.5" SATA disk, there are no drive bays or connectors for it. I couldn’t even find a place for their installation. In other words, you can’t just insert an additional disk. There is no Ethernet port, and the built-in 5GHz WiFi is not the fastest - right now, the speed is 325/325, while in the same spot on the phone it's 650/650. The ping to the provider is good - 3ms. It doesn’t pass the test of opening the lid with one hand. The pre-installed Win10 Home for one language cannot be upgraded to Pro without transitioning to Win10 Home. There are 4 round feet at the corners, and protrusions along the entire length of the body are more convenient when there's a lack of space on the table. |
