Great router. Works smoothly for years. The signal strength is decent, enough for my three-ruble note. The settings are rich. There are custom firmwares. But a standard shell is enough, it’s not complicated, following the instructions, you can set it up in 30 minutes without any experience. Signal strength short power supply wire. |
I bought it for a laptop that was previously AC68U, the network card in the laptop is AX200, I’ll say right away that it doesn’t always connect in the AC standard more often!!! Doesn't heat up, works cold, reboots without delays, in short, the 4 cores do their job! The interface is as clear as always! The Merlin firmware Beta version has already been released for it, check online to see that it works even faster with it!! I didn’t understand what shortcomings it could have! |
what is the hour, the main thing is that it worked, connected, started, everything works, does not heat up there is a feedback program, I checked everything works - I have Win 8.1 on Win 10, old games do not work, a big drawback I launched BF3, lost, there were no problems, I turn it off for the night, I turn everything on in place there is only one problem with the firmware, it’s not the main thing, there are no others |
Wi-Fi 6 to the masses
After all the major companies released the first high-end Wi-Fi 6 routers, skimming off the enthusiasts, it came to the mass market. So at the beginning of the year, Asus released several similar mid-range models, which, although based on the platform from Broadcom, still look a little expensive against the background of familiar routers. For example, Asus RT-AX56U is a typical representative of the middle class, for which they ask for almost $200. In addition to support for the 802.11ax standard, the price tag is justified by two factors in the face of USB ports and support for Asus' proprietary AirMesh technology.
Classic dual-band router with gigabit port
So, Asus RT-AX56U is a classic dual-band router with a gigabit port and a couple of interesting solutions from Asus. For signal transmission, there are 2 external antennas that can operate at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. In the first case, we have a throughput of 574 Mbps, in the second, the speed rises to 1201 Mbps. In total, we get 1775 Mbps, which corresponds to the AX1800 device class. In fact, somewhere it happened, both connected smartphones and laptops showed 200 Mbps in 2.4 GHz mode and 900 in 5 GHz mode. When all the electronics available in the house went into battle (and this is about a dozen different gadgets), the router did not flinch and did not try to withdraw into itself, providing stable and high-quality coverage throughout the three-room apartment.
ASUS AiMesh
Now let's see what else the RT-AX56U is capable of. The router has a pair of USB ports to which you can connect an external drive, an LTE modem, or the most common flash drive. Like other Asus routers, it is easy to set up (thanks to the ASUS Router app), friendly with MU-MIMO and Beamforming, and able to work with Asus cloud services (AiCloud and AiDisk). The icing on the cake was ASUS AiMesh technology, which allows you to combine several different company routers into a single seamless network.
