Very simple, yet reliable and trouble-free drive, I've been using it for a couple of years. Probably. not a bad MTBF. I don’t know why the lens is plastic or glass, but it works correctly on both Windows and LINUX. It reads even moderately scratched disks without problems.
reliability. USB 2.0 connected and it worked! Fast and easy. You can install Windows XP from it without any problems. Don't forget about VERB! - (VERBATIM - the best available today).
do not put any crappy and cheap disks into it. The system programs that come with the package are rare garbage and seem to be bland. The stand is not very convenient. Most importantly, the original cord is very short - the worst thing - it's annoying, to say the least! Its height is poorly fixed on smooth surfaces. In short, DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE is your friend - a nifty thing.
