Working and touch

VivoBook Flip 14 is a versatile device, more like a traditional laptop in terms of filling, but expands the possibilities with a 360-degree swivel screen. The latter has a diagonal of 14", a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, an IPS matrix with decent contrast (1420:1) and brightness (305 cd/m2). And thanks to a solid 131% sRGB colour reproduction, the laptop is even suitable for graphics work. It's also nice that the laptop can work with a stylus.

Enough space, but not speed

Completing a laptop with an Intel Core i3-7100U processor (4 threads, a frequency of 2.4 GHz), a HD Graphics 620 video core and 8 GB of RAM is more than enough for work and entertainment, even in undemanding games. But the HDD with a capacity of 1000 GB is rather slow, and despite its volume, it will not allow the processor to open up at work. In addition, the laptop is not very suitable for typing due to the keyboard with tight key travel, even if it is not without backlighting. The quality of the webcam with a resolution of 0.3 MP is also questionable. But there are no complaints either about the high-quality touchpad, or about a pair of loud and surprisingly bass speakers.

Jack of all trades

The periphery of the laptop also hints at its versatility, albeit not for the sake of modernity. Two USB 2.0, one USB 3.0, one USB type C, full-sized HDMI and SD card reader, as well as a combined 3.5 mm headset jack and a Kensington lock. A battery with a capacity of 42 Wh is enough for 5 hours of work with multimedia, but less — and this is not enough by modern standards.
