Asus VivoBook 15 X542UA [X542UA-GQ003] (90NB0F22-M02560)

The Asus VivoBook 15 is a slightly simplified version of the Asus VivoBook S15. Simplification is noticeable already at the first meeting, since the body is made entirely of plastic, and the weight does not break records.

Design

From the point of view of design, the laptop was clearly sharpened for an office — a minimum of embellishments. The case is made of plastic, and the topcase flexes noticeably. The lid is made in the classic style of Asus — stylish concentric circles diverging from the logo.

The keyboard has a distinct stroke and a good distance between the keys, but due to the design of the laptop itself, it is unnecessarily loud. The trackpad is accurate enough, but Windows 10 doesn't support the full range of gestures.

Iron

The processor is an Intel Core i3 7100U of the Kaby Lake generation with a clock frequency of 2.4 GHz, and the integrated graphics card Intel HD Graphics 620 is responsible for graphics processing. The amount of DDR4 RAM can be expanded from 4 GB of standard to 16 GB through two slots. The storage is a 500 GB HDD. The cooling system is unnecessarily loud, but efficient enough.

Screen

The laptop screen is mediocre. The matrix made using TN+film technology with a resolution of 1366x768 is typical for this segment of devices — viewing angles are quite limited. The factory calibration of the colour gamut is quite accurate, and the anti-reflective coating will allow you to work comfortably, even on a sunny day.

A nice feature is the sound. Located on the bottom of the speakers from My Sonic Master produce a fairly clear and loud sound.

From the battery at an average load it can work 7-8 hours, and the fast charging technology allows you to charge the battery by 60% in 49 minutes.
