To heat up faster, I first set it to 3, and then reduce it. It generally heats up within the first 10 minutes of use. All fasteners on the body and neck are adjustable, the heating pad fits snugly on the body, but does not cause any particular discomfort. To wash, you must unplug the wire. I throw it in the machine at 30 degrees, it dries quickly and doesn’t lose its shape. Velcro fastener on the neck is adjustable in length, soft surface, removable remote control.
