Compact and versatile

The photoepilator of the German manufacturer of devices for health and comfort, Beurer, differs from its eminent competitors, first of all, in design: it is simpler and minimalist, but at the same time very light and compact, so it will fit in a bag and will be able to go on trips with you. It is also universal, as it is suitable for both women and men, and is designed to treat the legs, armpits, bikini area, chest, abdomen, back and face below the cheekbones (but only for women). At startup, the fan starts to work — you can’t exactly call the device completely silent. The Beurer IPL 5500 is powered by the mains, so you can’t do without wires and outlets. Fortunately, the cord is long enough here, so you can sit comfortably.

Effective hair removal

The epilator uses the IPL technique (intense pulsed light) with a fairly powerful flash of 5 joules per square centimeter, and if all the recommendations are followed, the hair will become smaller — up to 50% after only 3-4 procedures, as the manufacturer promises. And the duration of one session is small — about 30 minutes for the treatment of different parts of the body. As a result, you will get smooth skin without unwanted hairs, although the procedures, of course, must be repeated periodically for a long-term effect. But keep in mind that the device lives as long as its lamp, and its life is limited to 100K light pulses, which is a small indicator. This is definitely not enough for decades, but at least 3-5 years of resources should be enough.

Such an assistant in matters of beauty is also safe: the model has built-in protection that blocks dangerous ultraviolet radiation. And a special sensor recognizes skin tone and is responsible for the fit of the window. If the device is not close enough to the skin, the flash will not fire, and your eyes will be protected from a sufficiently bright colour.

Simple control

And the Beurer IPL 5500 is simple and straightforward to use. There are only a few buttons on the case that are responsible for turning on / off and setting modes, as well as a light indication signaling readiness for work and malfunctions. There are three intensity levels to choose from depending on skin type and two flash modes. You can either manually press the button to fire each pulse, or choose to fire the flash automatically at regular intervals (several seconds). The first option is recommended for spot treatment of difficult areas (for example, knees and ankles), and the second option is for large areas — legs, arms, etc. However during use, accidental presses are possible, since the buttons are located at hand, so it is better to periodically check the settings.
