This design was the reboot of our first lunch box design the Box Appetit that we launched in 2008. When it first launched, it received an amazing reaction and propelled us as a company into the food and drink on-the-go category. As designers, it is always hugely exciting to find a category that has been relatively untouched by product design. When we launched the original design it was revolutionary and helped inspire many other companies. At the time, the western world were making do with boring food containers that were not designed to elevate the presentation or eating experience of the food they held. We took inspiration from Japanese Bento boxes that have offer a design master-class in how to celebrate and present the food they carry. This new design took all the best bits of the original design and improved on them. The design adapts and allows you to carry a huge variety of different foods with ease, all organised, leak-proof and a pleasure to eat from. The aesthetic is a clean, timeless look that will age well and stand the test of time.
