Production began in 1980, and the vehicle was named after General Creighton Abrams, the charismatic commander of the 37th Armoured Battalion, who fought in World War II and later led American forces in Vietnam. The first version of the American tank had a 105 mm gun, and from 1985, a version of the Abrams designated M1A1 with a 120 mm gun was produced under license from the Federal Republic of Germany.   FEATURES: 1:35 scale – This scale kit reproduces the tank with incredible accuracy. Collector's accessory - The set includes a collector's plaque with the tank's name, model scale and an American flag. Tankman figure - The set includes a figure of an American tankman in a replica desert-camouflage uniform. The soldier wears a helmet and holds a Beretta 92FS pistol. The figure can be placed in the opening hatch or displayed next to the tank in a diorama.
