I have winter tyres all continental, I love them for their softness and good braking. I decided to try to take the summer continental. The very first thing that absolutely does not differ from winter tyres is the sidewall. It is very soft, thin and hipple. On the other hand, the tyre is light and economical. I didn't notice any change in fuel consumption, but I did notice softness. Comfortably rolls on a flat road, on small bumps too. Rulitsya well, does not blow on wet pavement, excellent grip and braking. But it is urban. This soft sidewall guarantees off-road adventures. Pits, too, I try to bypass everything. Not noisy, rides quietly, does not jump on the recumbents. I am satisfied. Good grip. Not bad rulitsya, and dry and wet pavement. Quiet. The price is quite democratic. Since 2019, the production facilities of the tyre giant Continental have launched the production of "green" summer tyres EcoContact 6, which is suitable for cars from small to large.
Variety of sizes
On the shelves of tyre stores, the model is presented in 112 sizes for the rim diameter of wheels from 13 to R22. Depending on the size, the structure of the tyre tread is also different - there can be from three to five longitudinal stiffening ribs in it. A common feature for all dimensions of the tyre is the asymmetric structure of the tread pattern. Special curved sipes in the central plane of the tread are aimed at blocking the tyre from slipping on wet roads.
Rubber compound Green Chilli 2.0
The balanced ratio between the longitudinal ribs and drainage channels allows the tyre to effectively self-clean from water masses and quickly drain the contact patch when traveling in rainy weather. The rubber compound of the model is “cooked” according to the proprietary Green Chilli 2.0 recipe. The compound contains chemicals to reduce rolling resistance and additives to help the tyre better adapt to uneven road surfaces. The special formula of the rubber "cocktail" also improves the transmission of traction and braking forces.
