New line of CPU cooling from Deepcool
More than a year ago, the Chinese brand Deepcool introduced an interesting line of AK CPU coolers, featuring a modern design, support for the new AM5 and LGA 1700 CPU platforms, and optional screens for displaying system information. While everyone was admiring the flagship Deepcool AK620 model with two fans and a 260 W thermal package, a simpler and more affordable model, the AK400, became the sales leader.
4 copper heat pipes
The cooler is based on a classic aluminum radiator with dense fins and four copper heat pipes that directly contact the processor, effectively transferring heat to the radiator fins. The kit includes a 120 mm fan with a high-quality hydrodynamic bearing. The rotation speeds are controlled using PWM: the minimum speed is 500 rpm, and at peak load the fan can accelerate to 1850 rpm.
Attractive price-performance ratio
As for efficiency, the manufacturer initially promised a TDP of about 220 W, but for a cooler with one fan and four heat pipes, this was somewhat optimistic. As a result, TDP was removed from the specifications so as not to confuse potential buyers. According to our measurements, the maximum value is 170-180 W, so the best choice for the AK400 would be a mid-power processor whose heat dissipation during auto overclocking does not exceed 150 W. In this case, the cooler will work without overheating and noise, coping with the tasks at hand.
