It has an adjustable 5 position speed dial which enables the machine to be run at 300, 450, 550, 650 or 725 RPM. When changing speeds the motor ramps up or down slowly to enable the operator to maintain sufficient control and prevent splashes. The DCD240 also has a lock of switch which helps to prevent accidental starting, e.g when changing the battery.
