Three Connection Options
The GameSir brand gamepad supports multiple connection methods. It can be used with a PC and other devices via Bluetooth or through a radio channel (dongle included), as well as connected with a 3-meter cable. The model is compatible with computers, smartphones, and tablets (Android and iOS), Switch consoles, modern Smart TVs, and TV boxes. For full versatility, only official support for Xbox and PlayStation is missing.
Additional features of the GameSir Cyclone 2 include customizable RGB lighting, a headphone jack (in addition to USB C for charging and wired connection), and a 6-axis gyroscope that provides gesture control — for example, tilting the controller.
Precision, Reliability, and Personalization
By default, the layout of the controls mimics Xbox gamepads. The user has access to more buttons than a standard Microsoft controller — a total of 15, including two programmable rear ones. Among the advantages are the TMR sticks and Hall effect triggers. This design increases control accuracy, reduces wear, and minimizes the likelihood of drift (unintentional activations). Additionally, TMR technology features lower power consumption.
The drawbacks include autonomy: the 860 mAh battery lasts approximately 2 – 2.5 hours with the lighting on, which falls short of many competitors. However, there is a version with a docking station that allows you to charge the device even during short breaks between gaming sessions. It should also be noted that full lighting customization, button programming, and profile settings are only available through PC software — GameSir Connect. These features are absent in mobile apps for Android and iOS: commands can only be changed using button combinations on the controller itself, which is less convenient.
Overall, for its price category, the GameSir Cyclone 2 is a solid choice. The gamepad is a great fit for PC owners and offers additional benefits for mobile gaming enthusiasts on smartphones, tablets, and other devices.
