One of the lightest cordless trimmers
The GARDENA SmallCut Li-23R weighs only 1.7 kg. This is very small even by the standards of lightweight cordless trimmers (they usually weigh around 2 kg or a little more). The difference of 300 g may seem insignificant, but if you are a frail woman or an elderly person, you can't help but notice that even such a small reduction in the weight of the tool has a positive effect on comfort during operation. On the other hand, the low weight of this trimmer is especially important because the handles are not adjustable. They cannot be tilted or adjusted to fit their height, so people who are taller or shorter than average will have to figure out how to hold the mower properly.
Plastic knife instead of fishing line
An interesting feature of this trimmer, which distinguishes it from many others, is the absence of a line spool. Instead, a spindle with a knife is installed. The advantage of this system (which the manufacturer calls RotorCut) is that at the same rotation speed (it reaches 9500 rpm), the knife lasts much longer than the fishing line, and the cut quality is higher. The blades are made of durable plastic that wears slowly under normal operating conditions (i.e. when cutting young grass and dead wood with thin stems). Of course, if a plastic blade hits a stone, it will break. In this case, the tool comes with several spare knives at once. It is important to note that the blades for this trimmer are inexpensive and are freely sold as accessories. A set of knives costs around $10 – exactly the same as replacement heads with line for Gardena trimmers.
The trimmer is powered by a battery with a capacity of 2 Ah, which lasts for 15-20 minutes of work. Its only drawback is the fact that the battery is non-removable. That is, you cannot simply pull out the battery and replace it with another one, you will have to put the lawn mower on charge and wait a couple of hours before continuing to work.

The GARDENA SmallCut Li-23R trimmer can be recommended for owners of small lawns up to 1-2 acres. If you have a larger lawn, then a lightweight cordless lawn mower will be a great addition to a regular one.
