Very long blade

The Gerber Controller 10 filet carving knife is the senior model of the series with the longest blade of 250 mm. Also in this line there are knives Gerber Controller 6 and Gerber Controller 8 with blades of 150 and 200 mm, respectively. The model was created on the basis of numerous reviews and "Wishlist" of fishermen and is suitable for both coastal fishing and open water fishing. "Ten" has proven itself especially well when processing large fish species such as halibut, tuna, salmon and trout. This large knife with an overall length of 405 mm has a clumsy design and a thin flexible blade with a smooth sharpening and a mirror finish. The blade is made of Chinese high carbon 9Cr18MoV stainless steel with a high chromium content (16 – 19%), the most famous analogue of which is AISI-440B. The high hardness of steel of the order of 58 – 59 HRC is optimally combined with excellent anti-corrosion properties and ease of sharpening.

Built-in sharpener

The manufacturer paid a lot of attention to the design of the handle. It is ergonomically shaped with a limit stop, GuideFins for comfortable thumb placement and a deep recess for the index finger. The outer handle is made of glass-reinforced nylon with practical HydroTread Grip elements made of TPE thermoplastic elastomers with a textured surface. This handle design prevents the knife from slipping out of the hand during operation, which often happens when cutting slippery fish. At the back of the handle there is a hole for attaching a strap (lanyard). The knife is stored in a special case with opening drainage holes and is complemented by a sharpener on the outside. Although a finely knurled carbide cylindrical rod attached along the scabbard would be more correctly called a tool for quickly dressing the cutting edge. Outside the US, this model has a 25-year manufacturer's warranty.
