I wasn't at home at that moment; he showed this trick to my mom. The trick was that he set the water to heat in grill mode. Before leaving, he said that now food needs to be heated for 30 minutes. After hearing this wonderful story when I got home from work, I decided to take the microwave back to the store and return it under warranty, since the manufacturer didn't want to fix it.
