Hator Rockfall TKL 2 Mecha - this is my second keyboard from Hator, which I really love. Yes, by the first I mean the Rockfall EVO TKL, so there is something to compare it with. The Rockfall EVO version had Kailh Black optical-mechanical switches, while the Rockfall 2 Mecha has Aurum Orange. Tactilely, the second version is softer and less noisy, but it all comes down to subjectivity, so it's better to compare the sound on YouTube. Visually, the keyboards are almost indistinguishable, but the Rockfall 2 Mecha has brighter lighting and overall looks more attractive. Also, unlike the Rockfall EVO, the Rockfall 2 Mecha is slightly heavier, has a detachable cable, and a sound-absorbing layer. However, a key advantage of the Rockfall EVO over the newer version is the Hot Swap, which allows switches to be replaced without disassembling the keyboard. The keyboard is beautiful, typing is pleasant, it's very soft and even relatively quiet. But the reliability leaves much to be desired. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but after about 3 months the keyboard started double-clicking in many places, and eventually almost the entire keyboard. Unfortunately, the reliability criterion is too important. I will have to send it for warranty repair for the second time, because even after the first repair, there was still a lot of double-clicking. So much for the two-year warranty from the manufacturer. Optimal size
The Hator Rockfall 2 TKL Mecha is one of the most affordable mechanical keyboards with a noise-absorbing layer. The spacebar has received additional noise insulation. The format is average 87%, that is, without a calculator block, but with a number of function keys. Based on proprietary Hator Aurum switches with a service life of 70 million clicks.
Clicks or silence
Clicky Indigos are distinguished by rich sound and tactile feedback. While linear Orange ones are almost silent and will not disturb your family members at home or colleagues in the office. The keycaps are made of non-erasable PBT plastic with full Ukrainian localization. The built-in memory allows you to remember the desired RGB lighting mode.
Abundance of colors
You can also program macros to simplify complex combinations of actions in games or work applications. Inside the keyboard there is a rigid metal plate, which gives the structure strength and weight (almost a kilogram). In addition to two types of switches, you can choose the color of the case: black, completely white, and white in combination with yellow, mint or lilac.
Customizable backlight with both key combinations and software from Windows. Macro settings directly in the Hator software. Keycaps with EN-UKR layout, for which a separate thanks.
High-quality materials overall. The only downside for me is that even with constantly clean hands, the surface dulls - I chose white and was setting up a white setup.
