Honor 8X 64 GB / 4 GB

The mid-low-cost dude from the "daughter" of the Chinese company Huawei, stuffed with all sorts of "goodies" to the very eyeballs. An iron argument in favor of a smartphone is a large-caliber IPS screen with a diagonal size of 6.5". Due to the presence of a “bang”, the image is displayed in an atypical resolution of 2340x1080 pixels. The mobile gadget is powered by the homegrown “octa-core” Kirin 710, which occupies a position exactly in the middle between strong mid-range chipsets and flagship processors.
“In the base” the smartphone is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and an internal drive of 64 GB. Due to the long holder for 2 SIM and a microSD card, you can “pump” the capacity of the standard storage without the slightest problem. Takes pictures of Huawei Honor 8X 64GB / 4GB at the level of strong middle peasants from the category of camera phones. From the rear, the smartphone is equipped with a tandem of 20 + 2 MP cameras with an embedded artificial intelligence system, and as a front camera, the model uses a 16 MP image sensor with f / 2.0 optics. An additional plus in the karma of the model is the NFC chip on board (not in all modifications). The power source for the device is a 3750 mAh rechargeable battery. It charges via an archaic microUSB port.
Glass giant
The giant Honor 8X was presented in December 2018 and has since remained one of the most popular smartphones in the Honor line. The secret of success was the powerful hardware, good equipment and unusual design, which makes the smartphone look more expensive than it actually costs.
"Wow" effect
Mid-range smartphones rarely create a “wow” effect, but the Honor 8X did it. A large and textured letter X is applied to the glass with a gradient color. In combination with red, purple and light blue colors, this makes the Honor 8X stand out from other modern smartphones with a regular back cover. The positive impression of the gadget is reinforced by a huge 6.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels. The only unusual thing is that instead of the traditional teardrop notch in the screen, the Honor 8X uses a rather large unibrow, which has built-in proximity and light sensors, a speaker and a 16 MP selfie camera.
Strong middle peasant
In the engine compartment of the Huawei Honor 8X there is an 8-core Kirin 710 chip installed - almost similar in computing power to the “dragon” of the same name from Qualcomm. Tasks such as consuming multimedia content, surfing the Internet and communicating on social networks, the smartphone “clicks” like seeds, and especially for games, the model has a proprietary GPU Turbo mode (graphics acceleration without sacrificing battery power). The standard drive in the device’s arsenal has a capacity of 64 GB; in addition, the user is offered to resort to the services of a triple slot for a pair of SIM cards and a microSD card.
All you need
Otherwise, we have excellent equipment for a mid-level smartphone: a strong dual camera, USB C, aptX HD support, NFC, and a metal and glass body. Although, for the time being, you don’t often see metal and glass in $200 smartphones, and so far it’s mostly Huawei that indulges in such things. The only weak point of the model was the very average sound quality of the main speaker. Although, with NFC and a high-quality case this is easily forgiven.
