Designed by the renowned engineer Giuseppe Gabrielli, it was characterised by an aerodynamic layout with swept wings and compact dimensions that ensured significant in-flight manoeu... morevrability. Its good performance enabled the G-91 to win the NATO competition aimed at identifying a tactical support aircraft that was easy to produce, yet versatile and flexible, capable of equipping the air units of member countries. The Fiat G-91 was employed by the Italian Air Force, as well as by Germany and Portugal.
