The manufacturer positions itself as an affordable and high-quality product that allows you to create a high-speed wireless network in an apartment, house or small office. The incoming connection from the provider can be cable or wireless - thanks to the USB port, the router allows you to connect 3G / 4G / LTE modems, which is important for suburban facilities that lack the possibility of a cable connection.

As a hardware basis for the Keenetic Extra KN-1710 router, a MediaTek MT7628AN processor with MIPS24Kc architecture (580 MHz) and 128 MB of DDR2 RAM is used. The MediaTek MT7603 chip is responsible for working in the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band, providing data transfer rates up to 300 Mbps and working with two antennas. To operate the network in the 5 GHz band, the MediaTek MT7612EN chip is used. It also transmits a signal through two external antennas and provides speeds up to 867 Mbps. Cable connections have a bandwidth of up to 100 Mbps. The router has full NAT and firewall functionality and can act as a DHCP, FTP, file or print server. There is also a standalone Transmission torrent client and advanced parental controls.
