First railroad

The Steam Train set was added to the Lego Duplo line in 2018. Its main feature is the inertial motor, which sets the assembled locomotive in motion. To start, it is enough to slightly push the train forward or backward (to make money on the roof), and to stop, hold it with your hand or remove it from the rails.

In addition to the locomotive with the Lego Steam Train 10874, there is a train station, a crane for loading coal, two characters (a driver and a child), a squirrel figurine, as well as small accessories, including a shovel and a suitcase. In total, the young driver will have 59 parts at his disposal.

The construction set comes with five activation blocks for an interactive game. The child is invited to lay them out on the rails so that the train performs various commands, namely, it gives light or sound signals, slows down (in order to replenish coal reserves), changes direction or stops.

Expand and add variety

With the proposed rails, it will be possible to assemble a small ring road. But it is easy to expand and diversify it by purchasing other sets, including tracks with a bridge (Train Bridge and Tracks) or arrows (Train Tracks 10882). Also, the constructor is compatible with the "Freight train" — Cargo Train 10875.

The shortcomings include the lack of AAA batteries (4 pcs are needed) in the package. And if the child will play with the train regularly, then you should think about purchasing batteries and charging.
