Nice and neat appearance
The 21:9 ultra-wide 34-inch monitor is slightly curved (curve radius 3800R), but this is more of a design decision than a way to achieve maximum immersion.
Despite the large diagonal LG 34UC89G looks pretty neat. The display is surrounded by a thin frame that visually enlarges the image. The screen is supported by a sturdy but very compact stand that will fit even on a relatively small desktop. The stand allows you to adjust the height and angle of the panel.

LG 34UC89G is equipped with an 8-bit AH-IPS-matrix with a resolution of 2560x1080 pixels. As for a 34-inch screen, the level of detail is not perfect, and the graininess is quite noticeable. But the problem of the "fat pixel" (size 0.31 mm) has a downside, since the monitor does not make high demands on the hardware of the PC.
The picture is characterized by a wide colour gamut (99% of the sRGB space), which, together with high-quality factory calibration, gives accurate colour reproduction. The image looks realistic, moderately saturated and bright (peak value is 300 cd/m2, while LG 34UC79G has 250 cd/m2), regardless of viewing angles. But the contrast of 1000: 1 and the specifics of IPS technology determines the minus that is traditional for such matrices — the appearance of highlights in dark scenes.
High refresh rate and G-Sync
The matrix features a gamer-pleasing 5ms response time and a 144Hz refresh rate (additional overclocking up to 166Hz is possible when connected via Display Port). Emphasizing the gaming focus of the model is support for G-Sync, which will provide owners of PCs with NVIDIA graphics cards compatible with the technology with even smoother video sequences without tearing or delays.
The LG 34UC89G also provides basic profiles for various genres of games, supports the Black Stabilizer function, which increases the visibility of dark scenes, and Crosshair, which displays crosshairs over the game picture in shooters.
