After winter power outages, I decided to set up minimal backup power for the house. I chose to install 2 panels with a hybrid inverter from Anern and a 140 Ah battery. I was looking for panels with high nominal voltage because the inverter starts at 30 V, and I only have 2 panels. The panels arrived via Nova Poshta, were well-packaged, though the delivery cost was astronomical. I installed them myself and also lifted them onto the roof (an upside-down ladder and a rope do wonders). The roof has a slight angle (20 degrees) with a slope to the south (a plus during installation, but a minus for winter operation and generation). The roof is made of slate. Installation was quick and trouble-free, using a galvanized profile with factory mounts. I had no experience in this, so I had to watch a lot on YouTube, installation instructions, etc., and used AI to discuss any unclear questions. It has been working for 4 months without any issues. I used "solar" cables, 6 square millimeters (in case I want to add panels in the future). I installed a pre-fabricated box with "breakers" between the panels and the inverter. The panels were grounded. I decided to choose these because they had a number of advantages: - A well-known manufacturer and one of the market leaders - High level of efficiency in converting solar energy into electricity: 24.1% - New model (released in 2025, purchased in February 2026) - Many new technologies, developments, and implementations used (if one believes the official website) - High power - Generates quite well in cloudy weather, during light summer rain can generate 100-150 W/h with 2 panels. In cloudy summer weather without rain - up to 500 W. The maximum generation of these two panels (with a nominal total power of 1300 W) that I observed was 1190 W (in the north of the Zhytomyr region). Whereas according to NOCT testing, the maximum is 990 W. In June, they generate 5 W as early as 5:40 AM (a funny figure, but the very fact pleased me). They have already been tested by strong gusty winds, light hailstorms, thunderstorms - everything works. I wash them with a car brush (with soft bristles) and clean water from a hose + connect the hose to the car brush. It takes some effort, but they become clean. I haven't used detergents. I wash them once a month. Sometimes, I might additionally wash them spot-clean if birds make them very dirty. Dirt and bird droppings wash off relatively easily. I would like a more detailed installation guide from the manufacturer. |
