The Makita LD050P rangefinder is free from the drawback that is typical for many laser roulettes. We are talking about incorrect work with some surfaces, such as sheet metal or galvanized steel. This model has a powerful red laser, which gives a bright and clear point. It is clearly visible and perfectly readable by the device (but even this device will not work correctly on polished surfaces). However a powerful laser also has a downside — high consumption. Batteries are only enough for 3000 measurements (most rangefinders have enough charge for 5-10K measurements). But the manufacturer did not stint on a case and a strap that allows you to wear the device on your wrist or attach it to a belt (important when working at heights).

The number of functions of the device is moderate. The device can do exactly as much as builders need: measure distance (with two reference points), add and subtract the obtained values, calculate area and volume, and also calculate Pythagorean results. The menu is simple and intuitive, despite the abundance of buttons. The ON button, by the way, is difficult to find by touch (it is not convex), and you need to get used to it.

The last five values are stored in the device memory. This allows you to do more or less complex calculations without using a pencil and paper to record the intermediate results of calculations.
