This cordless jigsaw is capable of cutting wood and non-ferrous metal up to 135 mm and 35 mm thick, respectively - the highest performance in its class. At the same time, the jigsaw is quite performant: according to the manufacturer, on a single charge, it is able to cut through more than thirty metres of a 19 mm thick chipboard. There is a charge indicator on the battery itself. The jigsaw does not have an adjustment wheel to change the number of blade moves, but the built-in Vario Speed system allows you to change them with a stronger or vice versa weak pressing of the start button.

Precise curly cuts

It should be noted that the pendulum wheel in the Metabo STA 18 LTX is located lower (closer to the sole) than in other similar models, which reduces the amplitude of blade vibrations and, accordingly, a more accurate cut. This is especially important when you need to make curly cuts, for example, for furniture fittings. The design features the Metabo Quick blade change system, which does not have a clamping ring, as in other models with SDS cartridges, but there is a folding aluminium bracket that folds / presses in a matter of seconds.

Unfortunately, the vacuum cleaner cannot be connected to the Metabo STA 18 LTX. The model allows you to cut material at an angle of 45 degrees, but some users note that the sole does not hold well in the rotated position, so it has to be tightened strongly. The jigsaw has an excellent cooling system thanks to the aluminium frame of the gearbox and two outlet channels for warm air.
